Political Prisoner Le Dinh Luong held in solitary confinement

In early June 2025, Le Dinh Luong’s wife and two grandchildren witnessed the forceful removal of Le Dinh Luong during the allotted monthly family visit to Nam Ha prison. The authorities abruptly ended the visit, and  dragged Le Dinh Luong out of the visiting room in front of his shocked grandchildren, leaving them visibly traumatized.

Joint letter calling for the release of Mr. Chau Van Kham

In an open letter to the Vietnamese Prime Minister, human rights activists and elected officials from around the world called on the Vietnamese authorities to immediately release Vietnamese-Australian activist Chau Van Kham and respect the recommendations of the United Nations Working Group on Arbitrary Detention (UNWGAD).

Vietnamese democracy activist Dang Xuan Dieu released from prison

One of Vietnam’s most prominent political prisoners was released and exiled after almost six years of arbitrary detention and harsh treatment. Dang Xuan Dieu arrived in Paris today following sustained pressure for his freedom from the EU, human rights groups, elected officials, and Vietnamese at home and around the world.
