Le Thang Long is a telecommunications engineer and graduate of the Vietnamese Polytechnic University. He founded a mobile phone company called EIS Service Co. that was listed on the stock market in Saigon. In 2007, Le Thang Long filed an application to run as an independent candidate in the National Assembly election which was refused by the Fatherland Front, an offshoot of the Vietnamese Communist Party.
