His Excellency Mr B Tweddell Ambassador Embassy of Australia 8 Dao Tan Street Ba Dinh District HANOI VIETNAM

Your Excellency,

Supporters of Vietnam Reform Party (Viet Tan)

I enclose copies of letters I have written to the Hon Nguyen Tan Dung, Vietnamese Prime Minister and Hon Stephen Smith, Foreign Minister in support of members of the Vietnam Reform Party who are facing trial in Vietnam on May 13, 2008.

My request is that these people should be dealt with in an open and democratic manner and one way to ensure that this happens is for the Vietnamese Government to allow the foreign media to attend the trial proceedings as observers.

I urge that the Australian Government should do everything it can to ensure that these unfortunate people are dealt with in a fair and impartial manner.

Thank you for your consideration.

Yours sincerely,

Michael Keenan MP
