Singing for Vietnam’s Waters and Human Rights:
Thousands of activists expected for outdoor concert and march in Washington DC on July 6th

WHAT
Outdoor concert at Freedom Plaza featuring artists from ASIA entertainment and celebrities from Saigon Broadcasting Television Network followed by a march to the White House.

WHY
In May 2014, China violated international law by deploying a massive oil rig in Vietnam’s Exclusive Economic Zone. To support Vietnam’s territorial sovereignty and Vietnamese citizens who have organized peaceful protests against Chinese expansionism, organizations both inside Vietnam and abroad are launching an international campaign: Singing for Vietnam’s Waters and Human Rights.

WHO
The day of music and activism is organized by a coalition of over 120 Vietnamese communities and organizations worldwide and with the support of other Asian American communities.

Day of music and activism on July 6, 2014

Protest at the People’s Republic of China Embassy: 11:00pm – Noon
Location: 3505 International Pl., NW, Washington D.C.

Protest at the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Embassy: Noon – 1:00pm
Location: Sheridan Circle, NW, Washington D.C.

Outdoor public concert at Freedom Plaza: 1:00pm – 4:00pm
Location: 1455 Pennsylvania Ave., NW, Washington D.C.

March to the White House: 4:00pm – 5:00pm
Route: From Freedom Plaza to the White House and return to Freedom Plaza
