Dear Prime Minister,

I write to you in relation to Dang Xuan Dieu whom is currently incarcerated for allegedly “Carrying out activities aimed at overthrowing the People’s Government” under Article 79 of the Penal Code.

I, like Dang Xuan Dieu’s family and friends, am concerned about his current health and wellbeing and I would like to request a report on his medical condition since his incarceration.

I also urge you to release Dang Xuan Dieu on compassionate grounds and to honour your commitments under the International Covenant on Civil and Politics Rights, of which Vietnam is a signatory. I look forward to your response.

Yours sincerely,

Bernie Ripoll MP
