When: August 18, 2012 | 9am-5pm
Where: Washington, DC (location TBD)

Viet Tan’s “Digital Activism Seminars” are two days of interactive in-depth training on digital activism and non-violent struggle. It has taken place all over the U.S., Europe, and Australia and produced viral multimedia projects spanning all issues concerning human rights in Vietnam. We’re bringing the seminar back to where it all started – in Washington, DC for a special 1 day engagement.

SEMINAR DESCRIPTION: Using the Internet and social media, activists in Tunisia, Egypt and around the world are challenging authoritarian regimes and realizing social change. In Vietnam, a blogger movement is sparking public debate and mobilizing civic action.

How can we achieve social justice and democratic change in Vietnam with the tools of the digital age? This seminar will provide in-depth training on digital activism and examine how a nonviolent struggle for democracy CAN and WILL succeed in Vietnam. Learn about the mission of Viet Tan and how dedicated Vietnamese youths around the world can become effective democracy activists.
