Dau Van Duong is a student, previously active with the anti-China protests in Hanoi during the summer of 2011. He signed a petition for Cu Huy Ha Vu, having attended his April 2011 trial, and against bauxite mining. He was arrested as part of a larger crackdown currently totaling 17 human rights defenders (mostly from Vinh Province).
