Tran Huu Duc is a computer science student, previously active in protesting the Nghe An police harassment of students organizing religious activities. He signed a petition for Cu Huy Ha, having attended his April 2011 trial, and against bauxite mining. Tran Huu Duc was arrested as part of a larger crackdown currently totaling 17 human rights defenders (mostly from Vinh Province).
