A coalition of Vietnamese and international organizations made a submission to the UN for consideration of the 32nd session of the Universal Periodic Review in January 2019.
The submission is co-signed by ACAT, Bau Bi Tuong Than Association, Brotherhood for Democracy, Lawyers Rights Watch Canada, Reporters Without Borders, Viet Labor Movement and Viet Tan and covers the following issues:
- Curtailing freedom of expression and information
- Restrictive press freedom
- Increased digital attacks
- Persecution of journalists, bloggers and human rights defenders
