Vietnam UPR Working Group Makes Submission to UN Human Rights Council

A coalition of Vietnamese and international organizations made a submission to the UN for consideration of the 32nd session of the Universal Periodic Review in January 2019.

The submission is co-signed by ACAT, Bau Bi Tuong Than Association, Brotherhood for Democracy, Lawyers Rights Watch Canada, Reporters Without Borders, Viet Labor Movement and Viet Tan and covers the following issues:

  • Curtailing freedom of expression and information
  • Restrictive press freedom
  • Increased digital attacks
  • Persecution of journalists, bloggers and human rights defenders
